Her work is rooted in bringing stories to life. Through abstract paintings, realistic portraits, murals, and designs she tell tales of the human experience. Her process of conversation, listening, and experimentation, allows her to create tangible artworks in the hope of allowing people to see themselves in someone else.

Tara has been an Artist since she could colour outside the lines, an Illustrator and Designer from the moment she fell in love with the craft, and obsessed with asking “the hard questions” since Simon Sinek’s teachings got under her skin. From earning a Bachelor of Communications from Alberta University of the Arts, to working in studio, then freelancing for the last 6 years, Tara continues to build her body of work and explore what it means to be a creative with curiosity and wonder.

Tara strives to allow conversation, connection, and community around struggles with Mental Health, everyday life, and emotions that we all feel, and more often than not, feel completely alone in. She dives deep into human emotion, where it sits, how it is visually represented through our eyes, body language, and facial expressions. Then, she works to translate that onto paper, canvas, or digitally. She is currently a resident artist at nvrlnd. in Calgary, Alberta.

In 2019, Tara founded You Are the Wolf which is an apparel company and online community around heartache, healing, abuse, and the struggles so many of us face alone. The goal is for the apparel to serve as a reminder that you are not a lone wolf and a reminder of the strength we all have inside of us.
