Phosphorescence Collection
To glow in the dark
Our lives are a balancing act of dark and light, good and bad, positive experiences and negative ones. This collection of work is inspired by a series of images I’ve collected of sunlight making shapes on walls and water. A personal fascination with studying how light finds its way in and through objects, shadows, and darkness. In these shapes of dark and light, I see the human experience and our ability to be resilient. The way we chase light and fear darkness and sometimes forget that we can’t have one without the other. A curiosity for the dance of them both and how we dance with them. The teachers they both can be as they grow and shape who we are.
Through this series of varying textures, mediums, shapes, colours, and words, this collection represents the beauty that can be found in both. When we live through this balancing act with a willingness to embrace both sides of the coin, we truly find our strength and discover who we really are.
