“When I was little, I was obsessed with the idea of smile lines–the fact that laughter could leave lines on our faces. I couldn’t wait until I had a set of my own. That thought makes me smile a little.

Just as pain can leave permanent marks on our bodies, joy can leave permanent marks on our faces. Life makes marks either way–good or bad.
